Welcome
On behalf of the entire Shoreland family, we want to extend a warm welcome to you and thank you for visiting our website. If you’re a student or parent just learning about Shoreland, it’s likely that our school is different from any other you might be exploring.
On these pages, you can read about our dynamic academic programming and the diverse opportunities students have to discover their spiritual, social, emotional and physical selves. The site also provides an overview of our school’s philosophy, core values, rich history and impressive results.
What may be less visible is the way biblical principles are embedded into the fabric of the school or how the extraordinary power of God’s love transforms hearts and minds through a Christian education. This Christ-centered focus empowers students to get through life’s highs and lows, including making good choices when faced with difficult situations, and generates a joy-filled spirit and energy that reverberates throughout the halls and classrooms of our entire school.
Another essential feature of Shoreland is that our students are able to pursue their passions to the highest level and try new things. Instead of sitting on the sidelines, more than 99% of our students participate in one or more extracurricular or cocurricular activities. Annually, 74% of students compete on a sport’s team and 76% are members of a musical group, strong evidence of our commitment to providing ample opportunities for student participation.
Shoreland’s financial aid program ensures that students from all socioeconomic backgrounds are able to take advantage of and contribute to our school community.
Parents are an integral part of life at Shoreland too. Parents receive a newsletter twice a month from the school and have access to a comprehensive Parent Portal. Parents also visit campus often to attend performances, cheer for our teams, meet with faculty and volunteer.
Our own children are graduates of the school or current members of the student body. As Shoreland parents, we can attest to the life-changing experience that students encounter at the school, but don’t just take our word for it. Our alumni return year after year to tell us about the positive impact of their Shoreland experience. You will have an opportunity to read their stories and see our students putting their education and faith into action as you browse the website. You may even begin to get a sense for the lifelong friendships students and parents forge with their peers and with faculty from their years here.
Please enjoy your visit, and let us know what else you’d like to learn about Shoreland.
Your servants in Christ,
Paul Scriver Michael Koestler
